Review: Prayer Points: Praying God's Promise at Your Point of Need

Praying God's Promises
at Your Point of Need

As a new Christian, I often have problems discerning the "holding God accountable" part, as I don't exactly know what I'm holding him accountable to.  I'll be the first to admit I don't know all the scriptures.  I may never.  I also don't know what to refer to when praying for something specific.
So when I had the chance to review this book, I jumped.

First impression:  I love the beautiful look of this book.  While the small book cover is a little awkward, the feel of the covers itself is wonderful.  It's very soft and sleek, and smooth to the touch.

The book allows you to search for any topic you want to pray over, and it will assist you in locating the scripture associated, and how to pray God's Promise over you.

There are great topics you wouldn't ordinarily search out, including the challenge of being a parent, and fear of dying.
Once you've identified your topic, (for this review, I'll use Facing Spiritual Attack.  Something I'm quite familiar with!) you locate it.  For ease of searching, there is an index in the back.  Each topic is grouped together for easy location.  You can search under Physical, Spiritual, Relational etc.

From the book:

Facing Spiritual Attack
Overcoming the enemy's discouragements.
God's enemy, satan, sometimes throws obstacles across our paths to discourage us.  Resist him by stepping into the shelter of God's presence.  Sit with Jesus for these next moments and wait for Him to strengthen you.

It then provides several scriptures that give God's promises in relation to this topic, so that I can identify what God promised me, and how to ask specifically for it.
Finally, you are given a prayer that you can pray, either directly, or in your own words, to help you ask specifically for help with this problem.

This is another great book that I will definitely refer to again and again, until I know how to pray God's Promises without assistance.

This book is perfect for the beginner, who needs some reassurance, and even to a seasoned saint, who just needs some help.

Here is the book's information:

Think about it . . . you feel more alive, whole, and centered when you’re firmly connected to God and anchored in his Word. You cling to him, give him your best moments, and talk with him nonstop. But then, there are times when you just don’t know how to sincerely express yourself through prayer. You’re at a loss for words, and a sense of helplessness takes hold of your heart.

God desperately wants to hear from you! PrayerPoints lets you take what you’re feeling right now, quickly connect your needs to God’s Word, and then pray through his promises as they relate to your specific need.

Don’t abandon your prayer life because you can’t find the right words to say. Let PrayerPoints guide your thoughts, direct you to the heart of Scripture, and move you to a place of wholehearted, all-out, amazing relationship with God.

I received this book in exchange for an HONEST review from Tyndale House Publishers.  No other compensation was provided.
