So my son purchased a $25 gift card for Google Play at a 7-11. He did so, so that on his new phone, he could buy some online game he's become crazed over. Ok, no problem, right?
Wrong!!
Google is NOW REQUIRING THAT HE PROVIDE PROOF OF IDENTITY to use a gift card!!!!
WTH? According to their own terms & conditions, a CHILD of 13 can use google play with a parent's permission.
SO why in the heck are they asking him to provide his SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER and DRIVERS LICENSE when they KNOW he's 15????
I am SOOOOO angry over this, it's crazy! It's not even really about the money, it's that they're requiring ID for a GIFT CARD!
What's next? Buying a Macy's gift card at Macy's and then them asking you to provide ID that MATCHES the gift card??
