This post brought to you by GoodNites. All opinions are 100% mine.
Did you know that bedwetting is common? Over 15% of the 4-12year olds wet the bed!
Everyone wets the bed. It is what it is, whether you're an infant, a toddler not potty trained, a child who can't hold it, an adult with incontinence or a senior who just can't hold it at night. Sometime in your life (or multiple times during multiple stages!) you WILL pee the bed. Period. Sorry to say it!!!
But for children, it can be incomprehensibly embarrassing. You're "supposed" to be able to hold it at night, but alas, your body mechanics aren't matching with your brain the right way, and viola! You pee the bed. It could be you can't hold it, your brain isn't waking you, or you sleep right through it. It could be a medical problem, or even the dream is just too good. You could even be DREAMING about peeing!!
For ANY of those situations, GoodNites has your child covered. Literally. GoodNites has created the Undercover Mission
To help you and your child get a little normalcy in your lives.
The mission is a 3-day challenge by wearing GoodNites discreet-fit underwear over a course of 3-days, whether at home, on the road or visiting family etc. in an effort to keep your child dry.
We completed the Undercover mission with FLYING colors!!
Prior to the mission, we've used and tried lots of things. No liquids an hour prior to bedtime, waking him up in the middle of the night and even having a 'pee bottle' (TMI, sorry!) by the bed for emergencies (this is the type of disposable urinal they use in hospitals.)
Nothing really worked.
So we took on the Undercover mission. We received a package of GoodNites Underwear. They come in 2 sizes. The size that best fit our son is the L-XL (for 60-125ish lbs) I say ish, because like any thing you wear, it can fit people differently.
I was going to post a picture of my son in them, but I decided to save him from that ultimate embarrassment because as you know, the Internet is FOREVER! (unless something like the tv show Revolution happens...but I digress.)
We used a rewards system for our mission, offering him an increasing level of game time for each night he stayed dry. This incentive gave him the desire to TRY. And it worked.
Here's what I love about GoodNites Underwear:
1) They have a great fit. Unlike disposable underwear of the past (and others currently on the market) they are comfortable! There is no scratch seams, no extra bulky weight and it doesn't feel like you're wearing those funky fake shorts they give you at the doctor when you've forgotten and worn pants.
2) THEY HOLD THE LIQUID! Yes, the first time he wore them, he peed. And I'll tell you, he can pee! The bed-side urinal has a measurement thing, and one night, he urinated a full 8 ounces. Doesn't seem like a lot, but for a 7yr old, it is.
Want to know what GoodNites are? You mean you DON'T know? Ok... You're forgiven. Here ya go:

Bedwetting is the loss of bladder control during the night. The medical term for bedwetting is nocturnal enuresis or enuresis. Bedwetting can be an embarrassing issue, but in many cases, it is perfectly normal.
