Seattlites! It's time to sign your kids up for Summer Camp!!!

Disclosure:  I received 4 complimentary family passes to SAM in exchange for a post about their Summer Program.  No other compensation was provided.

Did you know that the Seattle Art Museum has a Summer Program?  I didn't!!

I've never been to SAM.  I remember when they put up the "hammering man"

and thought it was so cool.  Every time you drive by SAM on 1st ave, you see that iconic sculpture with it's moving arm.

I know Spring has only just begun, but you don't want to wait until the end of school to sign your child up for summer camp..trust me..you'll end up with nothing, or even worse, a horrible camp!!!

So to make it easier, I'm including some great information about SAM's summer camp, so you don't have to do all the research!

Seattle Art Museum Presents SAM Camp

Three weeks of fun-filled imagination and creativity, designed for children in grades 1–5! Each week is a different experience. Attend one week or all three. Your kids will make art and new friends!

Week One: July 8–12

Globe Trotters: Art from Around the World
Are you ready to put your art on the map? Make collages, paintings, sculptures, passports, mixed media maps and more in response to art from around the globe. This week will also include fun music workshops.

Week Two: July 15–19

Time Machine: Art Past & Present
SAM Campers will go back in time exploring art from the Pacific Northwest and across many continents! Time capsules, comics and futuristic portraits are just part of the adventure.

Week Three: July 22–26

Planet Heroes: Art & the Environment
Be a hero for planet Earth! SAM Campers will create superhero costumes from recycled materials, create trash sculptures and other “green” art, and learn everyday acts to save our planet.

Seattle Art Museum is one museum in three locations. The camps take place at either the Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park, or at the Olympic Sculpture Park on the Seattle Waterfront. Each week of camp includes a trip to the galleries at SAM Downtown.

  1. I've driven by the hammering man...it's so cool! I've never been to SAM either, and had no idea they had a summer camp. I'll be looking into it!
